Cycling on the Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is a great place for cycling. Whether you are a keen bean or prefer a more laid back approach there are miles of cycle tracks, bridleways and paths to suit everyone.

Within an area of just 147 square miles you will find over 200 miles of cycle routes enticing you into the countryside or along the coast.

We are happy to give you some ideas of where to go, we’re both quite into cycling at the moment so please just ask. Mark has done the Round the Island Randonee twice and knows the Island well.

Wight Cycle Hire will deliver and collect bikes for as little as £14 for the day. There’s lots of useful info on their website so take a look

If you’ve not done much cycling before, beware that the Island can be quite hilly in places, so why not hire an electric bike?? A fab idea we reckon! For £25 a will deliver the bike to wherever you want to start your cycle and collect it afterwards. The battery is fully charged when delivered to you.

If you are willing to do some pedalling, your range is up to 30 miles, if you just want to sit on it it should give you about 15 miles depending on the conditions.

If you wander further afield here is a list of battery recharging stations on the Island.
