There is no need to bring your car when you visit us in Cowes on the Isle of Wight – in fact we highly recommend that you don’t bother at all, as its faster and greener to leave it at home.
Grab a train down to Southampton Central station and jump on the Quayconnect bus which will take you down to the Red Jet terminal. It’s then a hop over the water to West Cowes and a 5 min stroll up the road to us. (we use a network rail card which can give you a 30% discount on travel and makes a huge difference – book your train ticket all the way to West Cowes and get the boat trip included in the price plus this makes the bus bit free between the train and ferry – just show your ticket – we use Trainline)
Once in Cowes you have lots of choices for travelling around – the bus network is amazing and we have a stop right outside our door (book a bus pass when you book your room with us) which takes you to Newport and beyond. If pedal power is your thing then you can hire a bike from Two Elements for the day or more – we have a flat trail from Cowes all the way to Sandown on the south coast of the Island (about 30 miles total if you go all the way but there are a couple of great stops on the way) or why not try riding round the whole Island, 66 miles of undulating countryside and some spectacular views.
If you want to rent a car then we recommend using Co-Wheels Car Club which has cars just 5 mins walk from us – you need to join up at least a week before you arrive so they can send you a membership card to be able to unlock a car when you are here. You can rent a car by the hour and no need to pay for it to sit on our driveway for the evening when you head down to town for dinner.
